1200-400-800-1600. The race was a battle between UConn, Boston University, Richmond, and Lehigh. These four teams broke away from the field 500m into the first leg, establishing that the race would be between those four schools. With 150m to go in the first leg, Lehigh, Richmond, and Boston University dropped UConn from the lead pack. Lehigh and Richmond handed off the baton in the first exchange even with each other while Boston University was a few steps behind. UConn reentered the chat with a 52-second 400m, as their runner passed Lehigh and Richmond going into the final curve and ended up handing off for the second exchange with a 20m lead. UConn maintained the gap over Boston University and Richmond over the first 400m of the 800m leg. Lehigh and Richmond closed the gap, caught and passed UConn at 600m. Boston University continued the surge, forming a 10m gap over Richmond by the final exchange. Boston University maintained the lead until 550m, where Richmond, UConn, and Lehigh caught them. This pack of 4 had over a 50m gap on the rest of the field. These four schools stayed together as the laps continued to pass by. UConn and Lehigh made their move with 200m to go, surging ahead of Richmond and Boston University. The two raced side-by-side on the final curve, but UConn had the leading edge as they entered the final straightaway. UConn held off Lehigh to win by 3 steps. The UConn team of Brooke Strauss, Anna Connors, Sarah Trainor and Sascha Letica sets a new Event Record besting a 2023 mark of 11:19.09 set by South Carolina.
