Coming to the first exchange, it was a battle between four teams: Alphansus Davis (JAM), Holmwood Tech (JAM), Ramapo (NJ), and Alexandria City (VA). All four made it to the exchange at the same time, but it was Ramapo who sped out the fastest after the exchange. The four would regroup by 250 meters into the second leg, as Ramapo, Alexandria City, and Alphansus Davis were running three-wide, and Holmwood Tech lingering only 3 steps behind. Tragedy struck with 125 meters to go in the leg, as Alphansus Davis dropped their baton and lost time as they raced back to grab it. Officials raised a white flag, showing no disqualification would need to be done. The dropped baton allowed Holmwood Tech to merge into the lead and hand off first to the third leg and break away from Alexandria City. Alphansus Davis' Tabbrel Williams made up lost ground, catching Alexandria City by 400 meters, but at this point, Holmwood Tech had formed a 70 meter gap on them. Alphansis Davis kept charging, ultimately closing the gap on Holmwood Tech to 25 meters by the final exchange, while South Lakes (VA) joined Alexandria City and Alphansus Davis by the final exchange. By the bell lap, Holmwood Tech's lead had shrunk to 2 steps over Alphansus Davis, with South Lakes another 10 meters back. Alphansus Davis overtakes Holmwood Tech with 350 meters to go. As Holmwood Tech continued to fade, South Lakes moved into second place with 200 meters remaining. South Lakes tried to catch Alphansus Davis in the final half lap, but Alphansus Davis held on to win by 5 meters.
