Top two (and almost third place but by 1-hundredth of a second) ran faster than Kyle Langforde’s 2022 time of 1:46.11. Robert Farken of Germany lowers the record to 1:45.45 moving forward.
The pacer raced to the front once the gun went off, with only Jamaica’s Navasky Anderson following him. Anderson retained the lead when the pacer stepped off the track after 500m. Anderson was swallowed by the field going into the final curve. Coming off the final curve, Robert Farken (Germany) was in the front, just steps ahead of Mehdi Yanouri (USA) and Shane Cohen (USA). Cohen tried to chase Farken down on the outside, but Farken held him and the field off to win in 1:45.45.
